Poldi follows the life of Lukas Podolski, who is one of Germany’s most beloved soccer stars, known as ‘Price Poldi’ of Cologne. During his storied career, he played for the likes of Bayern Munich, Arsenal and 1. FC Koln, and was capped 130 times by Germany, playing in seven major tournaments and winning the 2014 World Cup. The 39-year-old is yet to retire and still plays for Polish side Górnik Zabrze, but has been building a second career as a businessman as he approached the end of his playing days. The doc will follow this stage of his life and reveal “unseen facets of an exemplary athlete and individual.”
